The Death of Venus

The Death of Venus

A Poem by dark and twisty

Last night I spoke to Venus;

The brightest planet in the sky

Came to me on a trail blaze of stars.

She whispered no secrets of love

Having lost them all to Hate

And his sickly cousin Indifference.

She was fading into non-existence

Drowning in an unfamiliar quagmire

Of abandonment and bitterness

And so she has come to earth

To join us non-believers

Having become one herself.

So depressing that the goddess of love has become a non believer.... without her we have no hope... oh wait, I guess we still have Eros... Hmmm.. I guess I'll take Eros and psyche as true love... I do like this piece but i think it could flow better (granted i've just spent a 1/2 hour reading rhyming poetry so that's probably the reason. This was wonderful! I liked it, Good job!

Eternally Yours,
Kissy The Imperfect Vampire (sorry, it took so long for me to read)

such a perfectly written piece love.
sad, bitter and almost a mirror image of what life feels like down here on earth sometimes.
love can easily be mistaken for hate and vice versa
I adore this.
