My First DayA Chapter by Kitten
I awoke the next morning. Still on my bathroom floor, the tattoos where still on my arms. If had not been a horrible nightmare. The bus would be here for me soon. I had to get ready. No matter how terrified I was. I pulled myself off the floor and began to ready myself. By the time the bus came for me I was ready. I shakily walked out the door and onto the bus. There was no one else there. Expect for the driver. Which whenever I looked at him he seemed to not fully be there. Like. The only way I could see him was out of the corner of my eye. Which made the ride very unnerving. The sat in silence the whole way there. Which wasn't very long a trip. I could have probably just walked. But it was custom to ride the bus. I got out and walked up to the studio. I sighed lightly and walked inside. I was about to say something when my voice caught in my throat. Cecil... He hadn't started broadcasting yet. But he was here. He turned to me and smiled.
"Oh. You must be the new intern. What's your name?" He asked holding out his hand. I took it and he shook my hand. "A-ashley." I coughed out. He laughed lightly. "Well. It's nice to have you." He said going to sit down. I took a seat as well. Not next to him. But in the third empty chair. I was filled with fear and unsure of what to do. I watched him prepare for tonights show and played on my phone. "Oh. I am going to need you to fill out a few forms and such. I know it's boring. But it's for the records." He says smiling lightly at me. I stand and grab the clipboard from him. "You can sit here and fill them out. In case you have questions. I can answer them." He said. I nodded and sat next to him. I spent the next hour or so, filling out the forms and talking to Cecil. This was turning out nicer then I thought. By the time the record where updated it was time for the broadcast. Cecil asked me to get him his coffee and I stayed in the seat next to him, in case I was needed. Which today, not much happened. For once. At least. Nothing that needed checking out. So it was a nice first day. "Do you have a way home other then walking?" Cecil asked as he was closing the studio. I shook my head. "You heard what I said. Walking home is deadly idea right now." He said with more panic then I expected. "Well... I don't think there are anymore buses tonight." I said looking around. "Come on. I'll give you a ride home." He offered as he walked toward his car. "Are you sure it's ok?" I asked worried. "It's no problem for me." He said smiling and unlocking his car. I got in the passenger side and buckled in. He got in and started the car. We didn't talk much for most of the ride. He had the radio playing low. I would hum along it certain songs. "You need to stop anywhere before you go home?" He said causing me to jump. I shook my head. He nodded and I directed him to my home. "Thank you Cecil." I said. "You need picked up tomorrow? It's not good to walk that far any time of the day really." He said. I looked back at my car, which was on cinder blocks. "If it's not to much trouble." I said. He smiled. "I don't mind at all. But we are going to breakfast tomorrow." He said. "Uh.. Ok." I said saying goodbye and closing the door. I walked into my house. I went back to my room and fell onto my bed. What was all that about..? Was he this nice to all the interns...? What about Carlos? I just shook the thoughts away and fell asleep slowly.
