In the shadow of the waning moonA Poem by Aldora SparrowIt all started with "a demon that devours your pain and suffering"In the shadow of the waning moon The aroma of uncut flowers lingers Gracefully, just like you When their words don’t reach you, They disappear from deplorable branches If I can't be the butterfly that flies through your skies At least let me be a demon that devours your pain and suffering, Watching you from beneath the shadows of your spreading glory Oh heavenly winds, I entrust my wings to you: I want to reveal my true feelings Dreams are fleeting; my chrysalis heart stops reincarnating The fading night’s tears dance in the hazy sky Just like you, who breathes life into me, The scent of fate's flowers remains It’s fine if the spirit of these words Flicker back to me in a different form If I can't flutter as a butterfly in your beloved sky I don't care if I become the monster that destroys you, You who bloomed in this wild and foolish world Oh, divine winds, take this feeling And scatter it among the leaves of time Dreams are momentary; our meeting Is granted by the vanishing spring’s echoes As it nears the end of its slow reincarnations Oh, celestial winds, make this feeling Disperse among the feathers of the past Time is fleeting; I look to heaven, Tears of the waning moon are in the misty sky I gaze up at the heavens in the shadow of the waning moon © 2010 Aldora SparrowAuthor's Note
