A dream forgottonA Poem by Aldora SparrowA response poem to Langston Hughes' "A Dream Deferred"
Original piece by Langston Hughes: http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/dream-deferred/
What happens to a dream forgotten? Does it sit at the bottom of the sea Like a waiting oyster with a pearl? Does it wonder its existence Like the low self-esteemed girl? Or is it like a long-lost artifact Hidden and forgotten under a sandy dune? Does it howl ever so forlornly Like a lone wolf towards the pale moon? Maybe it is like a new toy Thrown aside after a year. Or does it, like a wisp of smoke, just disappear? © 2009 Aldora SparrowAuthor's Note
