Dear Grandma

Dear Grandma

A Poem by teamsnow

Elegy Poem

"
It's been years since; but feels like yesterday
I wish it never happened; that you passed away
Why did you go; Why did you have to leave us
It's changed us all, now we do nothing but fuss
Time and time again, I ask myself what was best for you
Would staying have been bearable, as the aging grew
Then I think of your resting place; It's where you belong
For my time to join you will come, and it won't take too long

I can relate to this - I lost my grandfather when I was about eleven. I really like the last three lines and their contemplation of hope for a better existence after death. The phrase "and it won't take too long" is intriguing and a little spooky. Nice work!
