Oh How I Wish...A Poem by Daniel DoughertyJust sort of thought this up while I was drawing a flower.
Oh, how I wish I were a flower,
to which type I do not care. Oh, for all the beings on this world, and though I may wilt and wither, it is a flower I wish to be. Oh, how I wish I were a flower, perhaps a sunflower, always looking on the bright side. Or a rose, with a thick skin, and a pensive demeanor. I could try being a daisy, common, innocent goodness. Maybe I could be a tulip, and you run through me, just like Tiny Tim said. I could try being a honeysuckle, sweet as could be, though short lived that flavor may be. Oh, how I wish I were a flower, to which type I do not care. Oh, for all the beings in this world, and though I may wilt and wither, it is a flower I wish to be.
