AWAKENINGA Poem by PenlightI am undergoing a medical treatment...all is well....and its great for inspiration.. after all, I've got quite a few poems out of it.I wake-up with the flames of discontent running, like hooligans through my veins. As my feet touch the floor the sun laughs at me just before the clouds come to verify my luck. The studies of life gone wild turned into a life gone willing have taught me how to deal with the lies in my head but her picture makes me forget and ache for all that has gone away. My routine the coffee pot make the bed take the shots turn my angered lips towards all I can no longer do and easily blame the world for having allowed me just enough Love …to miss. Gandhi and Buddha sit on my shoulders poking fun at my ignorance and Jesus …well he just plain gave up. But there is always someone out there to judge me for having a heart that pleads for pain and answers rather than one that punches a clock from 9-5. I guess I’ll open the blinds let something in …I wish the world would do the same. © 2013 PenlightAuthor's Note
