A Meadow Harp

A Meadow Harp

A Poem by Danny J.H.

We walk through the meadow

With the flowers and things

And the tune o so mellwo

Those sweet harp strings

A dreamy tune they sing to us

A chorus soft and fair

We wish to sleep voluptuous

And soon we shall be there

Where tulips have their fun

Where roses shout with reds

Wherer pleasent fields lay neath the sun

we softly rest our heads

sleep we will until the morn

below those glistening stars

and when we wake us newly born

the meadow will be ours

and all the trees and hollows

will make our home and stead

and with the graceful swallows

we'll stay here till we're dead

We will dance in the moonlight

and dance in the dark

and we'll dance to the sound

of that ol' meadow harp

and we'll swing together

in our kingdom of trees

dancing forever

in the cool summer breeze

we can stop by the pasture

and gaze at the sky

o yes we can stay

till the day that we die

we can live with the birds

and learn of their songs

we'll know all the words

and right all our wrongs

with time and with care

the meadow'll be ours

and the love that we share

will be the brightest of stars

We will dance in the moonlight

and dance in the dark

and we'll dance to the sound

of that ol' meadow harp

Wow, i love this poem so much! I love the way you wrote it and i can feel emotion through out it. I love how you repeated the one stanza at the very end, It really ephasized the point. Good write!
