As It Is, As It Will Be

The people are dying

The cold air has come

The women are crying

The children are dumb

The sweepers aren’t sweeping

The pirates do say

The weepers aren’t weeping

The senator’s gay

The murderers kill

And the burglars grab

The farmers all till

As they stand dressed in drab

The poets all died

From the poison they drank

The people all cried

As their lifes savings

Those at the opera

All fell in love

All that they taught ya

Wasn’t enough

The movies were packed

But the screens were all blank

The crazies all cracked

And the butcher’s house stank

The kids found the cure

For cancer they said

but they're mother unsure

 sent them to bed

The doctors came out

With faces so dark

They said lets go out

Take a walk in the park

Death is a w***e

A pastor might say

As he walked out of the store

Forgetting to pay

Don’t stop to chatter

Or drink from the chalice

Said the Mad Hatter

While pointing at Alice

The moles in the ground

Burrowed too far

They couldn’t hear the sound

Of the drunks at the bar

The cult leaders frowned

As Manson was jailed

The king with their crown

Had finally failed

Don’t go off in the wild

Without a friend

Kill those who smiled

When you met your good end

The lyrics may be wrong

But the song remains the same

They sang it to Kong

When they sold him for fame

Don’t give up now

The road has just cleared

They all stop to bow

Just as we feared

All is one

And one is all

Go forth my son

And try not to fall

God has skipped town

And the devil is back

One means to drown

The other to hack

It is as it is

And as it will be

What’s mine is his

That’s all we see

very nice poem indeed. only one question though - is the fourth stanza complete? to me when I read it it feels like it is missing something. Very interesting poem. :)
