We're from the same blood,
We have an unbreakable bond.
So many things I have to say,
And if i don't say it now,
There might not be a tomorrow.
To tell, how great it is to be here,
Like good old friends,
Think and say the same.
Like a city after an earthquake,
Like a river ran dry,
Like a torn off, dying flower,
Like a seed in the desert,
That wont grow,
Like the millions Hungarians,
Who are not heard by the world,
Like the tired wanderer,
Silently asking for some food,
Home, house, homeland, peace, he can't hope for anymore,
That's what we'll be like,
If you can't treasure what you have,
If you wont look after each other,
That's what we'll be like without you.
Though the point you can't understand, until you live desperate, hard years,
Let whatever happen while we live, and die,
We are from the same blood.
Though the point you can't understand, until you live desperate, hard years,
Let whatever happen while we live, and die,
We are from the same blood.
Condolence on the death of Kertész Imre. we lost a great soul

Tho...We also had a poet, who was eventually executed, but his poems are all safe. Radnóti Miklós. look em up, maybe there are translations. :)
To those unheard
can I mention a line
" those unheard are sweetest"
Attila Jozsef, of course through Sinbad's youth the great Krudy and the "fateless" of Kertesz are widely read and discussed in my land and in my language as Imra Nagi was discussed.
It 's hasty to underestimate the readers' stretch
It will surpass all Euro- American gimmicks
Its words friend and it can be ignored

Like all "inside" and unlucky "outside" Hungarians,
We the so called "foreigners" are very much close and intimate
to "your" literary movements
(as it is a way of expression coming out from your psyche)
and being international citizens of writing dynasty
we also own their legacy.

and yes, Kertész Imre, survived the Holocaust, and he wrote about it. should i start with the awards he got, I'll be writing it till tomorrow morning. but to mention only two, the most important ones. The Kossuth Prize (Hungarian) and the Nobel prize in literature.
As for József Attilla, well he was an excellent poet, until he killed himself...
But I like Petõfi Sándor the most.

Well, the video alone, without the singing crowd wouldn't mean too much to me, because I don't speak your language -yet-
But the ending made my heart race... The roaring power of so many, wanting to say the same.
Awesome work!
I like the free verse write... we connect to those we connect with, we like those that we like but we share the same blood with only so many. Be proud of who you are and whoever doesn't like it... too bad!
