A fallen soldier's story...

A fallen soldier's story...

A Chapter by Dani The Unreviewed
"

It's really really dark.

"
In the night,
With a dead knight,
Didn't win this fight,
Had too much of the fright.

Sword drawn,
Far away is dawn.

The world filled with evil...

A million terrors,
No one to blame for the errors.

They're all crawling out,
When you're off guard, no doubt.
The rest walked out,
You're on your own.

Don't give in, keep fighting,
For the amusement of others,
You can't win,
You wont be let in,
But the fools keep pushing you,
You gotta try,
Even you know, you'll die.
So why even try?

Are they really so blind?
Or is that word too kind?

Slash, cut, stab,
Still too many of them,
And you're still on your own...
All alone.
Where is the promised help?

Night covers the town,
In it's evil seas you'll drown,
Time to go down.

The Hell raisers are here,
Terror creeps all around,
Among the houses, of your hope,
In the forests of your darkest thoughts,
In the flowing rivers of blood,
In your body, in your head.
The horror creeps closer, can't you hear?
Your heartbeat, million per second.

Nobody walks the street,
A head hanging on a tree,
Fangs flashing in the dark,
Red eyes, scanning you,
They came with lust,
Not to be just.

The darkness swallowed the sun,
You better run,
Freez, going numb.

Death walking in the shadows,
Seeking revenge,
Taking what can never be his.
Life, the next, or this?

In the graves,
In the churches,
In the cities,
In the villages,
Walk, not home, not welcome.
No rest,
Failed every test.

No help, no hope, nothing.
A scream falling down,
Hitting the ground,
No one to hear your voice...
The cruelty continues,
As long as you live.

Faces look at you from behind masks,
Giving you impossible tasks.
Eyes used to be window to the soul,
Now they're windows to Hell.

A powerful poem my friend. My father talked rarely of war. The Korean war and Vietnam were bad memories for him. Once when he was drunk. He told me he awoke and found the soldiers next him dead. His friend was killed. The China did this to mess-up the soldier who lived. It did. War is hell and sometime death is peace. A powerful poem my friend. Made me think about old dad and bad places. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

A great satirical take, Danny. The cruelty of wars are all you see once the illusion is lifted. Great write, and keep writing.

We all do. That is what makes poetry so obscure. It means something different to each one of us :)

Waw
Danny Boy
You are such a talented soul
The imagery here
and your use of words
Its captivating
and dark yet so strong

The fight through it gives hope for humanity
to never surrender or bow down to anything
To be their own
through life and death

Bravo
I miss you like crazy

Thank you very much :)
Just like the others wrote, this poem is fully charged with power. I'm not one into this kind of genre, but my brother is and he loved this poem. As for me this is inspiring, I tend to write of fantasy worlds and their battles, and this just reminded me of a character I have. I like the last lines, they're very true. And that's what I love about your poems, they always have truth written in them.

I love this, extremely well written! Very dark, but also very powerful. I'm not really sure how to describe the actual meaning.
