The guitars heal the scars,
Drums pound inside the hearts.
Bass gives the power,
Builds up a whole tower.
Speed brings a new seed,
It feeds the beast.
Give us our daily music,
Give us tomorrow,
And the memory of yesterday.
Give us what we need,
One god only, Rock 'n roll!
The stones will roll.
Rock 'n roll for life,
I'll rock till i live,
Or better off under a knife.
Gods and devils,
Poor and rich,
Believers, and faithless,
Soldiers and citizens,
Bricks and builders,
Liars and honest,
Pretty and ugly,
For once, all listen to me!
My clothes made of leather,
I've got no father,
Nor do i have a mother,
But still i have one thing left,
Rock 'n roll.
Mountains will move,
The earth will burn,
Wars will rage,
Ink will flood the page,
But rockers will always be around.
No matter what happens,
Rock 'n roll will always exist.
I agree. I love my music. Give me Leonard Cohen, Taylor Momsen and P.J Harvey. My muses for my writing. I liked your thoughts and the reason for the poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Well written and delivered!
I don't worship rock-n-roll but I sure do enjoy it!!!
I like the energy behind this piece, it really shows
the love of Rock you have in your roll, lol!
Thanks for sharing and b-blessed!
This is a rather fascinating poem. I really like the last stanza, referring to the effervescent infinity of music. I especially like the "Mountains will move, The earth will burn, Wars will rage, Ink will flood the page, But rockers will always be around." For me, this resembles the knowledge that Rock and Roll will always change the soul. Good job!
IM, I came of age in the early '70s, the Golden Age of rock 'n' roll. When I remember events in my past I recall the music of that time, the soundtrack of my life. Over the years my OVERALL taste in music has mellowed JUST A BIT, but I'm still cut from the same cloth as Deep Purple, Led Zep, the Stones, Ozzy and Sabbath, Rush, Floyd and on and on and on...I want "Shine On, You Crazy Diamond" played at my memorial service. A great write, this piece gave me a free ride on the Way Back Machine! Thank you for that! take care...dan
