The Soul Of Man

The Soul Of Man

A Poem by Dann Stack

I know with utmost certainty
That light and dark are same.
They've fought for all eternity
On my soul's unbroken plain.

Yin and Yang, you've heard it all
when light and dark collide.
But always one must fall
we must always pick a side.

But who can say the soul of man
is so easily decided?
When every day his hopes and plans
with life, they are collided.

Who are you to tell me
if my soul is dark or light?
Who are you to tell me
what is wrong and what is right?

For my soul is neither good or bad
it is simply alone.
And still with all the things i've had,
this house is not a home.

There is no dark or light,
there is just you and me.
So forget about wrong and right,
and follow what you see

i like the simplicity and the concept
this stanza really brought it together well:
"But who can say the soul of man
is so easily decided?
When every day his hopes and plans
with life, they are collided"
