The Rain

The Rain

A Poem by M.D.

The sky is nothing but clouds.

The smell of rain fills the air.

But it's not here yet.

The wind starts to pick up

The clouds grow darker

But still, no water falls from the sky.

The streets are clear

The rain starts to fall

But it's just a drizzle.

The drizzle starts to make small puddles.

The drops make ripples.

But it's not pouring yet.

The drops fall faster

The puddles turn into ponds.

But it's not the worst.

The lightening crackles

The thunder rumbles.

And the storm has finally arrived.

"But its not the worst." Makes me wonder if this is about a storm at all, but I do tend to overthink things... It has a premonition quality to it... Is the storm outside? Or possibly in you? I like this very much...

Yes, this is another poem that I think is haiku-like. It has the same kind of feeling, to me anyway. I like all your poems.
