still here, and quite still

still here, and quite still

A Poem by daninstockholm
"

No attempt at greatness here, my friends, just a small hello and a wave from this side of the pond

"
The view from my bed across to my desk

Ink
Pens
Wine glass, half full
Maybe an unlit cigar, romeo y juleta
Papers strewn across the desk
In full view of anyone walking by
But not worried about my secrecy now
For the pages are blank,
Waiting for words
A thought
A lyric
An impulse
A glimpse
A monument to crash
A building to catch fire
A soul to pass
A flower to capture my nose
But alas, the rest is silence

Author's Note

daninstockholm
I know,, it will come,, lots of things in my head rattling around,, I suspect that is the main reason I've been so absent,, to quote John Cage, "Having nothing to do, we do it none the less, our only problem is finding little scraps of time in which to get it done." And so it's been for me. I've missed you all and hopefully I'll get back on track here soon.

ah yes, as Hamlet so aptly said before he "slept, perchance to dream"

"the rest is silence" and sometimes there is all evidence of a writer's props...but the writer's muse is fast asleep...

but eventually the impulse will strike again..."a poet by any other name will write as sweet"---

If this is what silence produces, may it continue to rain down upon you. I love this, Dan...truly!

Bravo, and a big wave from THIS side of the pond! I've missed you, too! ; )

and sometimes silence is exactly what we need, and still we search and search to create some kind of fusion for ourselves ... great imagery :)
