Empty Roses

Empty Roses

A Poem by daninstockholm

She picked the flowers out immediately

The vase on the table next to the carafe

She acted happy to get them

Their innate promises

Had disappeared long ago

Very light with an excellent undertone of sadness. I loved it.

Thank you so much!!
Tenderness mixed with a pinch or two of sadness........

When roses become empty, life's music stops.

Beautifully written!

Thank you so much, Jeannemarie!! I appreciate your kind words!
I'm a sucker for roses...or flowers in general...for no occasion. They have a tendency to melt me, no matter what it is I'm feeling.

I love the feel to this, Dan. It very much pulls at the heart for me.
