As I Recall

As I Recall

A Poem by daninstockholm
"

a poem of love to my wonderful wife

"
1. As I recall, it was all there for the taking

At the beginning, when we left the world

As we know it behind

And the universe dispersed like the dust from an atom bomb

We entered a world where only lovers could exist

Where love was the only language spoken

And only the fondest dreams became reality

2. A swoon was how it started, or was it?

The individual moments of time

Are seamless in their flow

But we leave time for those

Who do not know our world.

3. Their world touches us not

We do not want it

We do not need it

We detest it like old bath water

We awake each morning

To a world made fresh

And read each other poetry

With our lips.

That is so sweet, I hope she appreciates the gesture and the effort, plus sharing your love for her with the rest of the world makes it that much more heart-warming. I love it.

I do hope you read this to your wife - that she is aware that you write of her for all of us to see how very special she is!
