A Safe Place

A Safe Place

A Poem by Daniielle7

arms engulf me in their warm embrace,

as deadly mixtures of emotions interlace.

fingers trail across scars and lacerations,

blatantly man made creations conceived

in accusations complicated by temptations.

The revealing of these violent illustrations

evokes feelings of protestation but as your

lips meet my pain its like there never was

any confrontations. I had forgotten what it

was like to be held in a safe place.

And i don't want to retrace any memories

back to the past because I feel like a disgrace.

Just erase it with black lace, a new face,

as hearts race. You saved me from myself.

drowning out the sorrow in the moment? i like this, we do tend to hide from ourselves by doing things that might be worse later on. nice rhymes and good flow. excellent write!

But is there truly a "Safe Place" unless you surrender something of your own - a uniqueness, a seperateness... a singular identity to become a We rather than the I that you were.

The power of love is a miracle, it can make us feel brand new... nothing like getting lost in the arms of the one you love. A really beautiful poem.

I tend to reach for the stars, for lack of better words. My hopes are too high and my dreams are too big according to societal ways. And if there is one thing I've learned throughout my life it's not .. more..
