Don't Fall

Don't Fall

A Poem by Daniielle7

It’s like stepping into the warm sun and trusting the sandy ground below will hold you, but after the first 10 steps, just when you think you’re about the reach the beautiful ocean view the ground gives way and you’re sinking. Slowly sinking, but there’s nothing to grab onto. There’s no one around you to hear your screams. You’re reaching and grasping at nothing at all. The sand pulls you in deeper and deeper and it’s getting darker and darker. It swallows you up and your lungs fill up with sandy grains. Your gasping for air but it’s too late. And it’s in that moment that you realize that if you had just stayed put and enjoyed the view from where you originally stood, none of this would have ever happened.

About
I tend to reach for the stars, for lack of better words. My hopes are too high and my dreams are too big according to societal ways. And if there is one thing I've learned throughout my life it's not .. more..
