![]() Je suis CharlieA Poem by Daniel SutheranTo the victims of life One for each of them. Each of the fallen, each of the ones who made fall. Watching along with tearful eyes, numb cheeks, nearly believing. There are no words. There are plenty of thoughts, but no words. Not enough words for one for each of them, but the thoughts are all there. We watch along now, but we need to think along, respect and love along. Not every one of dark will kill. Not every one of light will still. Even after this, we must not generalise. Thoughts and hearts will always go out to those who can no longer pour out their own, friend or foe. We lose many before they know they are lost themselves, when they lose others along with them. However, we must not generalise, we must strive for compassion, strength, love. Hold a hand, hold a heart, hold back the fight. We are not only 'Charlie' - we are humanity, not a singularity. We must work and strive, keep all alive, keep all happy to be so. Rest well, as pointless martyrs, nonetheless radicalising our tears, for you and your ways. To the victims of death
