I do not own an everyday hatA Poem by Daniel Sutheran...and neither do I want one.
I do not own an everyday hat,
to wear if I am suddenly invited to that ghastly but necessary meet. I do not own an everyday hat, to wear if it is suddenly noticeably colder. I do not own an everyday hat, to jokingly place atop the head of my cat, in hilariously frivolous ways. I do not own an everyday hat, to wear to keep my head from freezing. I do not own an everyday hat, to wear if I am at shouted and spat, at which I could fling it at the aggressor. Oh! the things I could do, if I bought an everyday hat. ...but I wouldn't ever do that.
