Lives Gone By

Lives Gone By

A Poem by DanielScanlon
"

Thoughts of my past and yours

"

When i look back on how things were

Doesn't seem so long ago

Years gone by now, in a blur

Life seemed simple, so nice and slow

We all remember that special time

We all experienced childhood

There may be memories that may be still alive

Burying the bad, unearthing the good

I feel as though why i am writing this

Not only to awaken myself within

We all have lives we need to live

Not merely to live, but to live to win

Someday soon, we'll be all but gone

Our lives lived out, our soul at rest

But as we live on, and our lives slow down

Let's live our lives, but do our best...

To show just how we've come this far

And to pass on lessons learned each day

It's what in your heart and soul you give

There's not much more than that to say

Other than to remember this:

Treat each other with a loving kiss

Remember to, what I am telling you

Someday soon, your past, you will miss
