Heroes At Ground Zero

Heroes At Ground Zero

A Poem by DanielScanlon
"

Those who had to pick up the pieces...

"

I am here, in calm quiet...

Never will be the same again

Deep in thought on a peaceful night

Missing a new innocence

We all grieve and mourn the loss

Of friends and family gone-

But forget we must, NOT of whom

Are left to carry on.

Those heroes who lost their lives

Doing what they do best

Must now watch over us, in our effort

To endure this daily test

Peace be with us all today

As we move forward but never forget

We praise our heroes at Ground Zero

And carry on this awesome debt...

Of gratitude of those there now

Those who carry on

Let's thank and love those who live

And always remember those now gone
