A Book

A life is like a book.

Short, full of wonder and mystery,

Lining up in shelves, against the library of the world.

But like any good book,

it ends.

No meter makes choppy to read aloud I like the theme..

Life is indeed like a book
I did not choose but have to read.
I may not like at my first look.
in time the author may succeed.
convert me to his point of view.
But only if he has the skill.
Though I find few authors do
I am prepared to read until
I decide I've had enough
of wasting time
on pointless stuff.
but if he holds my interest
I see no reason to protest
I write because I am obssessed
but only choose to read the best

i have to agree with the other reviewer, the meter/flow/etc. does make it a little awkward to read out loud. maybe play with it a bit that way?

besides that i love the idea behind this poem. nice job and keep on writing!
