A Little Boy with a Telescope

A Little Boy with a Telescope

A Poem by DoormanDan
"

This is the story of a little boy with a telescope, who one day began searching the Cosmos for answers

"
A Little Boy with a Telescope

I broadcast on every radio wavelength
But am always met with interplanetary interference
And absolute silence

The Cosmos I roam with my telescope
Trying to prove that I'm not alone

In these bok globules, will I find nuclear fusion?
Or will the gas clouds contain only dark matter?
My heart for many eons has been at aphelion
So these questions' answers I'll forever chase after

Radiation disperses throughout my marrow
Polarizing white blood cells with its gamma rays and sorrow
What awaits tomorrow?

The Cosmos I roam, destination unknown
Searching for the emissions of white holes

In these bok globules, will I find nuclear fusion?
Or will the gas clouds contain only dark matter?
My heart for many eons has been at aphelion
So these questions' answers I'll forever chase after

I am scanning, I am praying

I am searching, I am hoping

I am scanning, I am praying

I am searching, I am hoping

In these bok globules, will I find nuclear fusion?
Or will the gas clouds contain only dark matter?
My heart for many eons has been at aphelion
So these questions' answers I'll forever chase after

Wow, the writing process for this piece was probably the smoothest one I had ever gone through! It only took me around forty five minutes to write these lyrics, and overall, I am very happy with the result. My dad told me that it's not anywhere near my best, but for once I actually think otherwise (though I could be wrong). I'm not going to go into too much detail as to why, but I will just say that I got the beat that I wrote this song too (the beat of Telescope by Starset) down pretty solid with my words for once. Also, there are multiple layers to this piece, but I'm not going to spoil them for you :P. Like I said, I'm am really happy with the way this piece turned out, and am hoping that future pieces will be this relaxing to write (unless it should be tiring, which I feel it should be sometimes). I hope you all enjoy this piece, and I'll see you next time!

P.S. I am aware that if you string all of the space terminology together, this piece isn't necessarily scientifically accurate, but that's not the point. This is meant for symbolism than science. :)

This just took me back to my childhood when I was obsessed with space! I wanted to know anything and everything about it. My parents even bought me a telescope so I could go outside at night to stare at the stars. I remember wanting so badly to know it all, like I needed to know or I wouldn't be able to move on with life. I still want to know... lol. For that reason alone, I love this piece. Like you said it reads really smooth and puts the reader into a place of wonder. Well done :)

Very true! :)
From the looks of it, I'd say you've been reading either Scientific American or Discover magazines. Very interesting. A professor once told me that somewhere out there in space are old radio and TV shows still floating around. I've never heard of white holes before.

I had a telescope when I was young but all the stars I saw turned out to be a blur. :) You write with a unique style, keep it up. I enjoyed this.
