The Seasons and Their Servants

The Seasons and Their Servants

A Poem by DoormanDan
"

Every season holds its own brilliant beauty, but none hold that beauty alone.

"
The Seasons and Their Servants

Sowing the seeds of Springtime's serenity
Into sequestered adventurers from the city
Who have fabulously faltered in heart and candor
Are the ancient authors of Resurgent Ardor

Basking in the most awesome alpenglow
Through glorious gales and sorrowful snow
Perpetually is the Choir of Wilderness
Singing Summer's Sonnets to the villages

Enticing all voyagers to come across
Seas of frost to know Autumn's Awe
Are the seraphs of Gaia's merriment
With promises of wealthy inheritance

Burying the remaining relics of Melancholy
With Winter's Wisdom and spectacular stories
Within celebration and timeless tradition
Are the fauna of Dionysus's jubilation

This is the story of the Seasons and their servants
And how from the essence they purge every shadowy serpent

DoormanDan
Here's something new at long last! As usual, it's different than many things I've written in the past (that seems to have become my style as of late). Honestly, no matter what you guys and gals think of this piece, I'm going to remain proud of it. I don't know why, but this piece really holds a spot in my heart more than most others I've written. Anyway, tell me what you think! Until next time (which hopefully won't be in two months again...). :)

Partially inspired by the Last of the Wilds by Nightwish. If you haven't heard it before, I HIGHLY recommend you listen to it!

Ah, this was so spectacular... My favorite section was the winter one, which happens to be my favorite season but the one that holds the most tragedy in my life... Yet, there is such beauty and aristocracy in your delineation of winter. This is very well crafted. Amazing job!

You're welcome!
When you put it this way, it does make it sound like every season has it's positive side! While I hate winter, we do have our traditional celebrations to help the time pass by faster. I never thought of it that way, but it's true. Although the commercialism for that time does grow very tiring after a while as well. I'm still relieved when spring comes haha. Overall this poem really made me think, and hopefully this winter I'll have a brighter way of looking at the snow. Maybe not if I slide off the road because of it though... ha anyway! I loved this piece and enjoy the variety you give us :)

Too much alliteration. I liked it for the most part though.

The neon green font, eh, to lead it off it would work better if you didn't go gaudy with the color.

You should be proud of this, it's not bad.
