Abigail Williams

Abigail Williams

A Poem by DoormanDan
"

In certain situations, it is difficult to tell who the real witch is

"

Abigail Williams

Turbulent are these waters I tread

Nuclear meltdown is imminent
(It's time to let the violence commence)

When the hell did my life become this damn complex?

Caught are the righteous is Havoc's hex

But still I pretend, for I know I cannot make amends

I am trapped in this wretched web I've woven

From this trial, how will I emerge?  Of destruction I am on the verge

Apprehension approaches again to dance with me in this reversed pentagram

Morpheus has been refracted by selfish intentions

Now gone are the roaring rains of redemption

(Let the world be silently scourged)

Bedlam has cast a spell I find I cannot quell

From this trial, how will I emerge?  Of destruction I am on the verge

Apprehension approaches again to dance with me in this reversed pentagram

I've been lynched by the guilt from the lies I cannot confide

To those who wrote the laws by which I swore to abide

I know I cannot eradicate the demonic distress I've unleashed

The emotions I have bewitched in cowardice so mindless

Threaten to drag me down into the depths of madness

From this trial, how will I emerge?  Of destruction I am on the verge

Apprehension approaches again to dance with me in this reversed pentagram

Writer's Note:  I am finally back, and my creative meter is more full than it has been in quite a while.  My senior year of high school is proving to be exhausting, but everything is going well.  I have good grades, I know what I career I want to pursue(finally) and what college I want to go to, and I'm having a great time.  I may be back, but I won't be coming on the site as much as I used to, because school takes top priority, and my homework leaves me little, if any, time to write songs nowadays.  As usual, tell me what you think of these lyrics, and please be honest! :)

I bet she was a fun character to play. Thanks for reviewing :)
this is a fascinating write...i for one enjoyed...your words remind of one helplessly singing of her confessions, as if she was really possessed (or something like that.) either way,
brilliant imagery...amazing flow.

Ah, now I understand. Yep, it's me :)
There are so many theories about what happened at those crazy trials but in all of them Abigail Williams was always at the center. In high school I had to watch a movie about it (the name escapes me) but it was decent and went with the route that it was all faked by Abigail.
This piece follows all of the confusion that happened in Salem and provides one with the sense of wonder. I find myself thinking again 'What really happened?' Great work Dan, glad to have you back :)

P.S. Glad to hear how dedicated you are to your senior your and that your figuring life out. That's something a lot of people never do. Good luck :)
