MetamorphosisA Poem by DoormanDanFor that moment when we have to leave the wonders of childhood behind and embrace adulthoodMetamorphosis Once upon a time I played games with Snow-White and Rose-Red Every day we'd race through clandestine cotton candy caves But to their enchanting eyes I find I must now say goodbye The Earth has let her violet veil gently fall to the floor But as I stood on the rooftop, I heard the clock saying, "Tick-tock" And now I know I must not let myself be run through with rot So although I mourn for the lovely burden I've lost I will march on Tonight I'll break out of this cocoon And tomorrow I'll fan the flames of the sun, brave the dark side of the moon With both Yin and Yang I'll fly away Into a sky of storm clouds and Nightingales, flyleaf dreams and steady rain Unafraid © 2015 DoormanDanAuthor's Note
