The Never-Ending Story

Caught in a swarm of dragonflies, we stand in the even-tide

Waiting for the breath of Tomorrow to purify our minds

To caress our light deprived eyes with a subliming sunrise

This is a never-ending story of failure and glory

Side by side we journey through the nightfall and forward unto dawn

So heavy is the human heart, defining who we are

Side by side we raise our hands, all destined to kiss the stars

Vast valleys of lifeless ladybugs, a crimson covered horizon

All of your life you've slept and awoken, ashamed within

So you have not ever once noticed that you are an Amaryllis

This is a never-ending story of failure and glory

Side by side we journey through the nightfall and forward unto dawn

So heavy is the human heart, defining who we are

Side by side we raise our hands, all destined to kiss the stars

Five hundred thousand times I've lived and died

One million times I was wrong and right

But on this very day the darkness shall die

Drowned in an ocean of neon light

This is a never-ending story of failure and glory

Side by side we journey through the nightfall and forward unto dawn

So heavy is the human heart, defining who we are

Side by side we raise our hands, all destined to kiss the stars

We cremate this day and watch the ashes blow away

A storybook of empty pages marks the start of a new age

So No Lyrics Left Unsung was the first step that my writing style took in the direction I want it to go in, and this song is the second step. How is it? It may or may not be hard to figure out what this song is about because of the way I wrote it, and that is intentional. Please be honest in your review :)

Life itself is a never ending story of failure and glory. Yes, the strength in our hearts define who we are. . This one is well structured. . I am afraid you have used too many colors ( just my opinion ) which is sometimes kind of distracting. . Other than that, this is neatly penned. Good job :)

Totally love this, must be because it reminds me of my favorite band which is owl city you should listen to the music and not just the popular songs like fireflies and good time but deer in the head lights and my favorite song vanilla twilight.

I really enjoyed this one! Especially this part:

"Five hundred thousand times I've lived and died
One million times I was wrong and right
But on this very day the darkness shall die
Drowned in an ocean of neon light"

What I pulled from this is that the way people live can be predictable, but it's the unpredictable parts that make us different. Example, "one million times I was wrong and right", looking at this in black and white you can see the truth that yes, people are right and wrong many times. But it's what we were right and wrong about that shape us into different people that everyone else. And that we will continue to be right and wrong again.
Also I pulled that we all start and end life the same way, we all live and die. And our children and their children will do the same. But even though the start and end are the same, the middle never will be.

Not sure if that was your intent of the song but that's what I got from it, very thought provoking I must say :)

That is, for the most part, what this song is meant to be about. You worded it perfectly there. I'.. read more
