Fade AwayA Poem by DoormanDanThis is the song that started it all for meFade Away Throughout my life you always said that you would be with me until the end But that was just a lazy lie because you let our friendship burn to the ground The moment when I needed you, you stood there and let me fall back down And after a time I picked myself up to let you know I have had enough This is my life, this is my day I will not continue to fade away You left me behind with a half dead heart But I've managed to find light inside the dark What we had use to touch the sky, with the falcons it would fly But you let our friendship fall down into the depths of the Earth without a sound At one point when my trust in you soared, I believed everything you said you were But now I know those were actually the things you weren't All of those things that you use to say behind my back made my spirits sway I was alive outside but stone dead inside, the betrayal pierced me like a knife This is my life, this is my day You left me behind with a half dead heart But I've managed to find light inside the dark There's nothing to salvage, there's nothing to save I will not continue to dissipate (You put out the fires forged by my heart but the darkness will not tear me apart) No matter how hard you knock me down Every time I shall get up off the ground (I will continue crawling through this life, and leave this pain behind in the sands of time) So here is the fact I have to sell, I have reached the end of this hell This is my life, this is my day You left me behind with a half dead heart But I've managed to find light inside the dark Written in 2010 © 2015 DoormanDanAuthor's Note
