Reflections in the WaterA Poem by DoormanDanAbout the people who've decided to abandon their fearsReflections in the Water I have spent so long hiding inside of the shadow of the sun Because I was afraid to step out into this world of siren songs But I have had enough of standing behind these closed curtains One day the end may come upon us like an apparition So as of today I shall erase this valley of paper flowers And replace it with never-ending plains of amaranth I am done looking at the Earth through reflections in the water Now I will kick down the door and step into the mist I've been a part of the realm of colorless photos and dust-covered harps For as long as I have been writing my sad story with the stars But the words of my father I now remember He told me that sunlight won't ever reach those living in the Nether So as of today I shall erase this valley of paper flowers And replace it with never-ending plains of amaranth I am done looking at the Earth through reflections in the water Now I will kick down the door and step into the mist We are all wavering candle lights shining briefly in the night Until the day I melt away and become another faded ink page of time I will hold my hands up high and live my life Tonight I die so that I can finally be alive As of today I shall erase this valley of paper flowers And replace it with never-ending plains of amaranth I am done looking at the Earth through reflections in the water Now I will kick down the door and step into the mist © 2015 DoormanDanAuthor's Note
