Realm of Peculiarity

Realm of Peculiarity

Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here today

To lament the loss of the gorgeous gift god gave

That let us go beyond the stars and galaxies light years away

The positrons and neutrons, to a time way before the big bang

We have left the land of creativity to greet a world of hyperboles

No longer do fairies sing the silver stars above to sleep

Well it's about time we made a remedy to cure this sick society

So hold your hands high if you believe in things you've never seen

I think I've been dead since the day I was never born

And that Wall Street is filled with condors and dinosaurs

Whether I'm wrong or right, I'm not at all sure

But I live by the wise words of those who came before

If everything is of the universe but the impossible is not of the universe

Then everything isn't everything, tell me how that works

No, I'm not prophetic nor am I entirely scientific

I believe in both god and the laws of quantum physics

I just see a giant puzzle and I try my best to solve it

But it's hard to put pieces together when you've only just started

Perhaps mere chance is the only reason for our existence

Or maybe we're all thoughts in a multiverse like conscience

We may never know as long as we swim through this black ocean

Or perhaps we'll find answers residing in different dimensions

This is the realm of peculiarity, anarchy and harmony

Where everything is hidden behind a curtain of mystery

From string theory to singularities, branes to dark energy

There are many things that exist outside of our visibility

So before you go to sleep, let this question echo in your head

Is there a monster underneath your bed?

Very interesting to believe in both god and science! I've honestly never met anyone like that, it's either one or the other.
When makes this poem special is that it portrays your opinion on a matter and is displayed as art. That I think is the best thing about it :)

Iontach! I loved the lines "If everything is of the universe but the impossible is not of the universe/Then everything isn't everything, tell me how that works" and "There are many things that exist outside of our visibility". Really makes you think. This reminded me of a class I just took where we were trying to single out the meaning of life; ever since that I've been fascinated with the question that no one can answer. I wish I'd been able to read this a few months ago!

I am completely stunned. I'm not lying when I say this, so don't cut yourself short, this is one of the best thought provoking pieces I have ever read. These are all thoughts I've had and its absolutely crazy that someone else has as well. "I think I've been dead sense the day I was never born", was an idea I have pondered and this line is when I realized just how good this piece would be. Sorry for such a long review I'm just in awe with what I've read. Once again, superb job.
