BlazarsA Poem by DoormanDanAt times we all take our lives for granted, but we should make every moment count because one day we all dieBlazars It has finally arrived, the summer solstice We have climbed the mountain of life and reached its zenith But we are all nothing but dust on the wind We don't know where we're going so let's make the most of this What we once thought was a world of will o' the wisps Is now within our grasp, this may be our only chance To spread our wings and fly like phoenixes This life takes away more than it gives So today let us sit upon our thrones in the sky For the blazars in the night will one day sing their last lullaby Our strength got us through lands of ice We pulled through, even when blinded by life's headlights And for the first time now, we feel alive Milk it for all it's worth, we can never, ever rewind What we once thought was a world of will o' the wisps Is now within our grasp, this may be our only chance To spread our wings and fly like phoenixes This life takes away more than it gives So today let us sit upon our thrones in the sky For the blazars in the night will one day sing their last lullaby Back when we first reached the equinox We gave it all we've got, we took the shot Now we've reached the kingdom of shining stones And have left the land of broken bones But one day it will all disappear That is a truth, not just a fear So of this life let's make the most Before we drift into the unknown This is our only chance To spread our wings and fly like phoenixes This life takes away more than it gives So today let us sit upon our thrones in the sky For the blazars in the night will one day sing their last lullaby There is no going back, the past is in the past The future is coming fast, we only have one chance To give this everything we have, the winter has finally passed So let's leave this land of shattered glass and embrace the sun at last © 2014 DoormanDanAuthor's Note
