strange thought upon awakening

i woke up in a different world
things werent like this
when I fell asleep
everything subtly changed

between the close and opening
my misty fog filled eyes

so often this happens
it makes me wonder
just how many different
worlds there are

some are cruel
some are golden
some harbor monsters
some very very strange

most I cant understand
not that I would try
if even I could
begin to begin

I woke up in a different world
and if this one is bad
imagine how much more
horrible some could be

so although my world
is filled with confusion
it could always be worse
than in this different world
in which I have awoken

our world has seemingly changed overnight---that is for sure---

we wake up and it's all technological...

where did the face to face contact go...where are books going? what is going on with a life we used to know.

I totally agree Jacob. As I get older it seems thing are changing so fast now. But I do have a little hope. My ten year old nephew is an avid reader like I have always been. The last time I saw him he proudly showed off his small library ( about twenty books hahaha but he is just beginning I am sure) so I gave him a stack of some of my best loved books. What amazed me was he had a couple of books that I also had in my library. Thanks for the review my friend.
