what the moon sees

what the moon sees

A Poem by daniel lee johnson

what would the moon speak

if it could see and talk
would it tell of the paths

that some men walk
the roads of hate

that they travel down
or say not at all

of their evil and frown

would it smile for

the hope of the love
as it shines down

from so far above
and laugh at the plots

of the evil men
that come to nothing

at all in the end

but for tonight

it says not a word
or maybe it did

but we havent heard
it shines in its silence

for all to see
but if it could speak

what would it be
