Beloved Dawn

Beloved Dawn

A Poem by Daniel DelMonacco

No one knows the pain you've felt,
The people you've met,
Or the things you've done.

No one knows how to make me melt,
What makes me sweat,
Or what makes me run.

No one knows the cards you've been delt,
How much you're in debt,
Or what happened to the sun.

But I can tell you,
That you are not alone,
Because even though we're not together.

I can tell you,
I'll be there for you
No matter the time.
No matter the weather.

So tell me what you want
And how i can make this right,
Because as much as i love the sex
I really do hate it when we fight.

Now you'll never get to read this
Because you're not here.
You've left me and now you're gone.

This night won't seem to end.
Because I can't remember dusk,
And I don't think I'll ever forget Dawn.
