In Vino Veritas

In Vino Veritas

A Poem by Daniel DelMonacco

I lie to myself all the time,

Say I never had the perfect chance.

I sat down so many times

when I shouldve asked you to dance.

I've loved you for so long

and this I can't deny.

Tonight could've been it

but hellos were soon goodbyes.

When will I have you?

When will things change?

I'm tired of being lonely,

I'm sick of feeling strange.

But if you let me shine tonight

let me show you who I am,

you might be slightly impressed

and you might let me be your man.

To the future we'll never know,

the choices we'll always make,

this is the time to love

these are the chances we take.
