St. Valentine

St. Valentine

A Poem by Daniel DelMonacco

Why didn't it work out
How would it have been
It's hard realizing your on the side
That doesn't win.

You never appreciated silence
Cause you were too busy making noise
But children make these kind of messes
And I'm still cleaning up your toys

Do you regret the past
Do I strive to look forward
You stay in the same place
With no one to move toward.

Hearts don't actually break
They just bend
Especially when you see your ex
With her new friend.
