Eraser ShavingsA Poem by daniel_jourThis is a poem that I wrote after realizing what a previous relationship meant to me.
I remember the warm body I used to sleep beside
The face is lost and now its only a body. In time it will lose its body too and then it'll just be an absence. An absence of something, but I don't know what. The pencil twiddles so quickly from one end to the other. Words erased in between periods get forgotten. But the eraser shavings are what make the book worth reading. The body of a paragraph needs eraser shavings. The eraser shavings are the body I used to sleep beside.
