surviving traumaA Poem by dani suzanne corke
the abusive memories disappearing;as the sun begins shining
tortures vanished under my smile the life i live now once only dreamed upon today i'm laughing and grinning out ran my past by the mile stars i now wish upon I'm fighter one that fought for my rights you made me a lot stronger by making me weaker i am a survivor; Lived through my own personal war so close to freedom i seen the lights now i work alot longer became my own private speaker been coming along far My shattered soul And broken heart our both regenerating through rain and pain comes sunshine and gain bruises healed scars gone away future able to now be felt memories stick like a broken chain
