Raising Above

Raising Above

A Poem by dani suzanne corke

Learning new ways to survive
new ways to cope
raising from below
coming from the dark into the light
dreams able to once again thrive
climbing up life's rope
memories will begin to flow
living sober day and night

my soul finally clean
heart becoming once again pure
smile glowing and eyes twinkle
a brand new beginning; And it's just the start
found my king; Only man to treat me like a queen
addiction and temptation attempting to lure
You ; Pull you back through another wrinkle
created time to heal; Sewed together my broken heart

Loving the beauty I now see in Life
New days arising
everyday a new journey
recovery's a never ending challenge
removed my toxin, my addiction; The past cut by a knife
changing and revising
sobriety my biggest tourney
taking in and breathing out knowledge
