Difficult Rhyme

Difficult Rhyme

A Poem by Danielle Calhoun

DIFFICULT RHYME

Trying to find the words, to make the just right rhyme:
Kind of hard to do, with other things on my mind.

I write and read and delete, thinking the words have no beat,
I rewrite, revise, and find the words were there the whole time!

Sometimes it’s hard to say, the things that are on my mind,
Trying to find the right words, just to make them rhyme.

I know the words may be few, but they touch a lot of hearts,
Even if they don’t rhyme, I know they are good from the start.

Words can be hard to find sometime. Need pain or joy to make the pen have life. I like the purpose of the poem. Thank you for sharing your poetry. Good to read your words again. You were my fist friend two years on this site. Thank you.
