Daddy!

Daddy!

A Poem by Danielle Calhoun

DADDY

She ran up to the window waiting for a sign
That he was going to be there
just as he had promised In her dream last night;
But she is disappointed as he doesn’t come

Where is her dear daddy why doesn’t he just come?
Her mommy never told her that he had gone away

But the one thing she did tell him
Was that he didn’t run away

Her father had been killed
Her mother knew that well

But she couldn’t bring it to herself
To tell her daughter the tale

For she was just a baby when her daddy died
She runs up to the window waiting for a sign

I'm going to prescribe validation and catharsis in order to achieve release from issues past that bond you to current times.
