Crying Clouds

Crying Clouds

A Poem by Danielle Calhoun

CRYING CLOUDS

Raindrops falling on the ground,
Listening closely, you hear a sound,
Like those of footsteps in the mud,
You listen close, where is it coming from?
You keep your distance as you see,
A tall white mare with a glowing mane,
Standing there in the rain, not a drop,
Falls on her coat, as she stands there,
Should you go? Thinking as you walk to her,
You stroke her mane and speak to her,
She kneels down and you get on,
She takes you places you only dream of,
As you look at the world below,
You see the raindrops as they fall,
While you’re above the crying clouds,
No one but you and the Pegasus steed,
As she flies with golden wings.
