Creation

A Poem by Danielle Calhoun

CREATION

I never thought that I would turn into my parents
But with every passing moment I realize I have

I am stubborn like my dad who can hold a grudge
But protective like my mother always wanting love

I am strong like my grandmother
And probably Granddad

I am a single mom and this is what I have
The heart of a wise one yet the hand of a fighter

The soul of an angel with a voice that makes a choir
Sing praises all day long without a second glance

I look at this whole world as if I was another woman or man

I am who I am because god made me so
I am who I am and as I continue to grow
I realize I’m human just like everyone else

If only I could see heaven without having to go through hell

Your words are true in this poem.
"I realize I’m human just like everyone else
If only I could see heaven without having to go through hell"
The above words are true for the most of us. Thank you for the excellent poem. We must be careful. I'm many people. My elders made me think and live a certain way. We must be careful what we teach our children.
