Crash and Burn

Crash and Burn

A Poem by Danielle Calhoun

CRASH AND BURN

Maybe my neighbor is right
it’s time to let you go

but I don’t want to let go

I thought that time would mend
the rift between our hearts

but it seems to only show
that you have not changed

Your loss

I thought you were the one
I want to give you benefit of the doubt

But what’s the sense in that
when people who have been there before

tell me to let you go
to just walk out
the door

Sometime only option is a goodbye and the door. I like the honest and direct words in this poem. A excellent poem.
