Being a Mother

Being a Mother

A Poem by Danielle Calhoun

BEING A MOTHER

Parenthood,
What is it like?

I know it is not,
All rosy and perfect.

But to be a mother,
is my greatest wish.

To hold a baby,
Listen to it cry.

I want to experience,
A thing they call parenthood.

I may not ever see that day;
God please let me hold a baby someday.
