Aunt Clara

Aunt Clara

A Poem by Danielle Calhoun

AUNT CLARA

Aunt Clara: a true Matriarch
Aunt Clara: a true Matriarch

When I was a child
You appeared so young
And spry

My how times change
I dare not cry

For you have passed

Gone to the
Big guy in the sky

What I wouldn’t give
To see you one more time

I remember the times
You took care of us

And I will always remember
The woman who became

An angel of God
An angel of Grace

I’ll miss you Aunt Clara
In my heart you will remain.

Love,
Danielle
