Another Day in Hell

Another Day in Hell

A Poem by Danielle Calhoun

ANOTHER DAY IN HELL

Why must you tease me
with your devilish ways?

You keep me thinking
while life goes as it may

I worry about my love;
where in the hell is he?

Is this another plot
for someone to break me?

To make me feel worthless
to make me feel like

hell

I wish that the devil
would really go

where nothingness dwells

You taunt me with your laughter
you make my heart sink fast

When will I ever hear
those three words again?

He told me that he loved me
and that he’d be back and now

Nothing from him lately
five days feels like hell
