ANNA

ANNA

A Poem by Danielle Calhoun

ANNA

She stares at me with soft eyes and I walk to her
No fear do I hide, she sits and wags her tail

She jumps up on me as I sit on the couch
She licks me until I can hardly breathe

Her name is Anna and she is not mine
But her love is daily a treasure to me

For I see her when I go to my mother’s house

She reminds me of a dog but much smaller
Anna is a puppy and my mom is her mother

She wags her tail as I walk to the door;
She knows that I love her

This dog I adore
